Hello my name is Gil and I’m a food addict.
This blog is dedicated to my addiction. My goal is to enjoy food to the fullest while trying to stay healthy, raise a family and work full time. All while sharing this addiction, my passion, with the world.
Some of my fondest memories are because of food. I vividly remember watching my grandparent cook, all while trying to learn their secrets. Manning the grill at friends barbecues or traveling to different countries and stumbling upon a fantastic new restaurant. Food has always been a huge part of my life.
I have always liked to cook, but it has officially turned into a love affair. I plan. I prep. I grocery shop. I am constantly asking myself – what will my wife and three year old son find delicious, BUT IS ALSO HEALTHY? This, my friends, is the hardest part. This is also why I started this blog.
Three years ago, I was up to 220 pounds and had high blood pressure and serious back pain. When my son Eddie was born, life was chaotic, and I wasn’t concerned with my health. Two trips to the emergency room for throwing my back out put things in perspective. I had to focus on staying healthy – which starts with eating right. I started this blog to share with the world that food can be both healthy AND delicious. That eating right doesn’t have to be boring. And that when my son and I step into the kitchen, magical things can happen.
