There is a never a bad time or day to enjoy burgers from the grill. It doesn’t need to be a holiday or weekend to make a good burger. Lately I have steered away from ground beef and have been using ground lamb for more and more meals that used to be ground beef, I just think that it is a better tasting meat and easier to use, I also use ground pork in combination with the lamb to add a little bit more fat and it cooks better. This recipe will make around six good sized burgers, it is pretty easy and quick meal and like I said there is no bad time for a good burger.
To start I will go out and turn the grill on, I use a Traeger grill, absolutely love it but I know that grills are very person specific so whatever grill you got will work. I get the temp up to around 400 degrees and then go to get the burgers ready. I will combine the ground lamb with ground pork, I will add panko bread crumbs, a egg, salt, pepper, parsley, garlic, and shredded parmesan cheese. I mix all of this together, I still go old school and just use my hands to mix it all together but feel free to mix with whatever tool you have, make sure that everything is well blended and then shape the burgers out. I like to make my burgers that the burger is bigger then the bun, that is just my preference so shape the burgers how you prefer. I make sure that the grill is ready and then place the burgers on the grill, I usually shoot for medium to medium well with temperature, since they are a little bigger I will leave them on the grill for a total of 10-12 minutes flipping the burger after four minutes and then again at around the 8 minute mark also. I will always walk away from the grill so that I do not open the lid in between flipping, now if you want to add cheese you only need a minute for the cheese to melt so open the lid and place the cheese on it for the last minute. Now toppings are always subject to taste I have gone very basic lately, ketchup, mustard, tomatoes, pickle and lettuce and sometimes avocado anyway you like it these burgers should hit the spot.
